Bakken (Bachen) Farm, Røros

Farm number(gnr) 25, Sub-farm number(bnr) 1

Its a little unclear to me yet what the status of the farm is before 1735 but Erik Ingebrigtsen took over the farm sometime after his marriage to Lisbet in 1730. They had a daughter Ingeborg Eriksdatter Bakken born on the Bakken farm. She married Michel Olsen Bakken. Michel and Ingeborg had taken over the Bakken farm by the 1762 tax census. They had a daughter Anne Margrethe Michelsdatter (1749 - 1834). She was born at the Bakken farm in 1749. She married Iver Jacobsen Kurås (1750 - 1810). They lived at the Nyplass farm until they took over the Bakken farm in 1804.

Sometime after the death of Iver Jacobsen the farm was taken over by his son Mikkel Iversen Bakken (1781 - ). In 1842 Mikkel Iversen divided off two parts of the Bakken farm to his sons Iver Mikkelsen (Farm 26.1) and Hans Morten Mikkelsen (Farm 26.2).

This chart shows my relationship to my ancestors from the Bakken farm. There were several marriages of my ancestors between this farm and the Kuråsen farm tying me to these two farms in several ways.

The Bakken farm is located just north of Røros. Here is a google map satellite view. It is marked with a blue house symbol. The red house symbol is the Ormhaugen farm which was a sub-farm to Bakken where other relatives lived. Below are some pictures of the Bakken farm.
