Margrethe Teslie's Letters

The letters are in my (Michael Baird) possession. I received them from my grandmother Isolene Allen (Margrethe's daughter-in-law) in 1978. She gave them to me in a a small box that contained some of the Norwegian possessions of Margrethe.

In the box were letters, postcards and photographs and Margrethe's mother, Anna Larsen's Genealogy Book. This page contains links to scans of the letters and cards. Scans of the photographs are on the pages of those in the photographs.

The first set of letters were written by Martin Tesli to his sister Margrethe. These letters from Martin, except for the letters written in 1936 and 1954 were written in Norwegian. Martin's son Carsten provided a translation to English as part of the 1952 letter. Many thanks to Liv Tesli Haugen, a great-grand daughter of Martin Tesli, who provided the translation for the rest of the letters.

The following letters are between Margrethe Tesli (daughter) and Anna Larsen (mother).
